Google Maps for Android, iPhone and iPad gets real time incident reports from Waze

Google acquired Waze, popular crowd-sourced navigation app back in June. Now Google has announced that they have started rolling out real time incident reports from Waze users. So when Wazer users report accidents, construction, road closures and more on Waze, these updates will also appear on the Google Maps app for Android, iPhone and iPad in select countries. Google says that these features are currently available only in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, France, Germany, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Switzerland, UK and the US. Even though Google has acquired Waze, those apps are still active on Android and iOS. These apps have been updated with Google Search, in addition to Foursquare, Yelp and more that would let you search your favorite businesses, home addresses and more in several countries. The Waze Map Editor has also been updated to include Google Maps Street View and satellite imagery to help users to fill in house numbers, street names, turn restrictions and other missing data easily. Even though the Google Maps mobile apps show incident reports, it will not include Wazer profile information, but the contributors will still earn points on Waze, says Waze on their official blog.
